Mr. Taylor showed us the short film Garden Party in the opp block on “Weird Films.” I was intrigued by the detail of the animation, especially the lighting of the water and the highlights on the frog skin. I also loved how expressive the frogs are. They aren’t traditional speaking characters like in most narrative animation involving animals, but they are still able to carry 95% of the story with just their movements and facial expressions. This film is a really amazing example of highly realistic animation that also tells a clear story.
