Post 27: Making a zine about mollusks

In Drawing & Design, Ms. Gibson had us do a project where we made a zine that showcased a collection of some kind. I chose to do a collection of mollusks. I have been spending time looking at marine animals and plants for this independent study, so I decided to transfer that experience over to actually drawing my own. I used online photographs to capture their forms, with some artistic license to add personality and more of an animator’s approach. I can see how access to 3D organisms like the Blaschka glass collection would have been even better for imagining the collection.
