I looked for specific visualizations pertaining to the Chesapeake River. I found the first graphic, a finalist from a 2016 high school competition, Visualize Your Water. It shows the percentage of land that has been commercially fertilized around the Bay, as nutrient runoff is one of the Chesapeake River’s largest problems. The visualization makes it easy to see where the different sources of contamination are coming from. I picked this visualization because of my plans to visualize the Chesapeake’s water contamination.
